With a portfolio of great-tasting food crafted for athletes and active people, we have become a category leader among health and lifestyle bars.
And, we offered 20 percent of the company to our employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan ESOP which created an ownership mindset and led to stronger business performance. It was a wild experiment at the time and in fact, we were one of the first — if not the first — corporation in California to embed social and environmental values in our articles of incorporation. It was well worth the effort to redefine the game we were playing.
