In our beliefs, the white tie represents good luck, and whoever is tying it on your hand is blessing you with good fortune. As for the red tie, it represent protection.. I am a big fan of you and your sister! I have 2 boys! Its Kabbalah, Period. No matter how u slice it or change it up. And anyone that knows the one and only living God, know the truth. I see it as her grandmother sending someone constant prayer. Same as the cross, rosemary beads, etc that people keep on them. Even if they are physically not in church or not praying, they are still in prayer subconsciously. The red string represent the blood of Jesus… it reminds us that we are covered in his blood…. She keeps us rooted…. Everyone, God judges the heart. So, if by any chance Tamera has deemed the red string to be some sort of idol, then the Holy Spirit will advise her of such.
I am a firm believer that all things happen for a reason; so we must not discount the fact that there is now conversation which will lead us all to be more aware and conscientious of our faith and our relationship with Jesus—what He really represents. The prayer line. When our lines fall of it does not give us good fortune… We actually try to find ours or we hurry to get another because we want to be covered by the blood of Jesus! King James Bible Deut. I am late to the discussion. I agree that Jesus is more than enough and He certainly is ALL but I read my Bible daily not saying that anyone else does not and in my opinion, this scripture may be where the string her grandmother began using comes from.

Interesting to know, Tamera. We do a prayer every year and tie these red strings as a protection to ward off evil To each their own, but anyone who reads the Bible will learn that we are not supposed to idolize objects, people, or symbols. It takes away the worship from The Most High Yah.

For as far back as I can remember she has been buying red yarn and praying over it before passing along to the intended wearer. She blesses the yarn with good fortune, and the belief goes that when it falls off great things will happen. The practice has been passed and now my mother sends the bracelets to family and friends and anyone who wants the protection.
Aden wears one as well and has since he was born. When each of ours falls off whether the right or left wrist , a new one is sent to ward off any misfortune. With a healthy, loving husband and son, an incredible career, unbelievable friends and a baby on the way, I like to think the blessings and power of this thin red bracelet are working.
